Provably fair check for a Duel dice roll

This is a provably fair check for Duel dice. Duel's dice article, written by Birate on 16 February 2026, says the roll is HMAC-SHA256. The key is the unhashed server seed, read as raw hex bytes, not as the hex text. The message is the client seed, a colon, and the nonce. This page runs that sum in your browser. The seeds stay on this device. Checked against that article on 18 October 2026.

How the sum works

Read the HMAC as 4-byte groups. If the unsigned 32-bit number is 4,294,959,453 or higher, skip that group. The first number under the limit is the one that counts. Take that number mod 10,001, then divide by 100. The roll is that result, from 0.00 to 100.00.

The published example

The article uses server seed e8c83961a3961baee67cc08da34ada1c00a4515450a3cdbd2b1db81a35ca7f72, client seed UzR5CIqog4DXox5H, and nonce 21. The first accepted number is 604508772. 604508772 mod 10001 is 8328. The displayed roll is 83.28. The button fills those three fields.

The hash shown before the bet

Before the bet, Duel shows a hash of the server seed. After the seed is revealed, SHA-256 the raw seed and compare it with the hash you saved. Paste that hash in the last field if you want the comparison here. A match means the revealed seed is the committed seed. The match does not say the bet was paid.

What this form does not compute

Blackjack, crash, plinko, mines, keno, and the other house games add extra inputs. This form does not compute them. The dice article is the only formula on this page.
